iCal flies in the cloud!

It does no harm, just this once : I have discovered a good thing.

Z and I use a lot iCal and the shared calendars function.

That way, I can subscribe to her schedule and she can subscribe to mine, to be able to easily know where and when we both are and make it easier to organize, since it's vital, in a family of five people with lots of work and activities.

But, until now, only iCal on the Macs could display subscription calendars. Our iPhones were not able to display these, including the birthdays calendar, by the way.

Today, as it happens several times a month, I couldn't connect to my me.com account and my iPhone sync failed because some asshole tried too many times to log into my account and subsequently, it was deactivated.

So I had to reset the password and reset my iPhone sync preferences so it can sync again. Pain in the ass, really.

Usually, it's easy and fast, but this time, it took several attempts to finally work.

So, I checked in details the results of the sync to make sure it went smoothly and noticed new and cool things, but some discrepancies nonetheless.

iCal iPhone

Pasted Graphic 3 Now, I can see Z's calendars I've subscribed to on my iPhone ! That's great !

Pasted Graphic 6 But I still can't see the Birthdays calendars on my iPhone. Too bad.

Pasted Graphic 4 I now can see the Birthdays calendar on me.com in a "Subscriptions" category ! That's great !
Too bad I can't change the colour of this calendar, though.

Pasted Graphic 5 And I can see Z's calendars I've subscribed to, on me.com, too. That's great ! And weird, since this calendar appears in the category "Calendars" in me.com, instead of "Subscriptions".
Also, I can't change its colour, either. Still the shade of green I don't like.

Anyway, this is a big improvement.
